AlbertaTenant (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the AlbertaTenant document generation service. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

When you use the Service, we collect:

• Identity information — your full name
• Contact information — mailing address, email address, phone number
• Tenancy information — landlord name and address, rental property address, move-out date, deposit amount
• Situation details — the facts you describe about your tenancy dispute
• Payment information — processed by Stripe; we do not store your card details
• Usage data — pages visited, browser type, IP address (standard web server logs)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to:

• Generate your demand letter or other requested documents
• Process your payment
• Respond to support inquiries
• Improve the accuracy and quality of the Service

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services which may process your data:

• OpenAI — your situation description and facts are sent to OpenAI's API to generate document text. OpenAI's privacy policy applies to this processing.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Supabase — database hosting. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service and comply with legal obligations. Generated documents and associated facts are retained for 90 days to allow you to re-access your document. After 90 days, personal data is deleted from our systems.

6. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your personal information
• Withdraw consent to our use of your information (note: this may prevent us from providing the Service)

7. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption for data in transit and secure database hosting. However, no internet transmission is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
