Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2, 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using AlbertaTenant (“the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. By checking the acceptance box prior to payment, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms.
2. No Legal Advice
AlbertaTenant is a document generation tool, not a law firm. The documents, analysis, and information produced by this Service are for informational purposes only and do not constitute legal advice, legal representation, or the practice of law. No lawyer-client relationship is formed through your use of this Service.
For complex legal matters, disputed facts, or situations involving significant sums of money, you should consult a licensed Alberta lawyer or contact Student Legal Services or your local legal aid office.
3. Accuracy of Information
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of all information you provide to the Service. AlbertaTenant generates documents based on the facts you supply and confirm. By approving the facts summary prior to document generation, you acknowledge that the information is accurate to the best of your knowledge.
AlbertaTenant does not independently verify any facts, dates, amounts, or circumstances you provide. Documents generated from inaccurate information are your responsibility.
4. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, AlbertaTenant and its operators shall not be liable for:
- Any outcome — favorable or unfavorable — resulting from use of a generated document
- Any errors, omissions, or inaccuracies in generated documents
- Any legal, financial, or other losses arising from reliance on the Service
- Any decisions made by tribunals, courts, landlords, or third parties in response to generated documents
In no event shall AlbertaTenant's total liability to you exceed the amount you paid for the specific document that is the subject of the claim.
5. Payment and Refunds
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. By completing payment, you authorize the charge to your payment method. Documents are delivered immediately upon payment confirmation.
Due to the immediate digital delivery of documents, all sales are final. Refunds are issued at our sole discretion in cases of documented technical failure preventing document delivery.
6. Scope of Service
AlbertaTenant is designed exclusively for Alberta residential tenancy matters governed by the Residential Tenancies Act, RSA 2000, c R-17.1. It is not suitable for commercial tenancy disputes, matters in other provinces, or situations involving criminal conduct or personal injury.
7. Intellectual Property
Documents generated by the Service are yours to use. AlbertaTenant retains rights to the underlying templates, software, and AI systems used to generate them.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Alberta.
9. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
